GM George McPhee went out this offseason and signed Joel Ward, Jeff Halpern and Roman Hamrlik, traded for Troy Brouwer and re-signed Brooks Laich, adding an element of sandpaper to his team without taking away from its offensive core. What's more, he added a top-10 netminder in Tomas Vokoun for a paltry $1.5 million for the 2011-12 season. Excuses are running out in Caps-land.

Ya you're right. Unless Mike Weaver won the Hart trophy last year and I was unaware.
