The power play has made a major impact so far, the Lightning have one less bid for ownership, a player makes a positive impact outside of the hockey world, True Standings more in depth, and analysis on the scoring opportunities of the Edmonton Oilers, as well as the rest of the National Hockey League.

• JPFDeuce of Raw Charge has heard that investor Jeff Greene has dropped his bid to buy the Tampa Bay Lightning franchise.
• Bob Harwood from Canes Country mentions that Eric Staal skated with underprivileged kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs yesterday. Often, we spend so much time on the negative stories (Dany Heatley over the summer) that we forget about the postive stories in hockey.
