Tom Tango of Inside The Bookmentions that Mike Phillips of Syndex Sports has developed a hockey system called PUCKS, which contains video of every play by every team. PUCKS is used currently by ten NHL clubs. Another system developed by former GM Mike Smith is used by six teams, though it is not mentioned in the second link.
Tyler Dellow of Mc79hockeydiscusses how wealthy teams should act in signing players and how good cap hits can be used as assets to a franchise.
Dirk Hoag of On The Forecheck says that Detroit's Brian Rafalski is not happy about Tennessee's relatively new privilege tax. According to Rafalski, seventeen Detroit players will be paying more in taxes as the result of playing in last Saturday night's game against Nashville than what they earned playing in that one game.
