Comparing Bruins' and Canucks' Depth

Both the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks have highly recognizable players at the top end of their rosters. For the Bruins, the Selke-quality work of Patrice Bergeron allows David Krejci and Milan Lucic to spend more time in the offensive end, while former Norris winner Zdeno Chara anchors the back end.

For the Canucks, the Sedins have won the Art Ross trophy for two years running while Ryan Kesler is widely considered to be one of the top-five all around centers in the game. On top of all that, both clubs boast Vezina-quality netminders.

There's more to Boston and Vancouver than just their all-stars, however. And now that injuries (particularly to Nathan Horton) and a suspension have taken their toll, depth players for both teams could see their roles increase.

Both clubs tend to reserve their depth forwards for more defensive-oriented duty, although the Canucks are far more committed to this strategy than the Bruins.
