Lundqvist's 11 shut-outs last year were nothing to celebrate, because the lack of change in goals-against-average and save percentage just meant he was more inconsistent.
For every shut-out he must have also thrown out a 4-or-5-goal night. His Quality Start Percentage was terrible.
I read your Quality Start essay...several times in fact! The shutouts are something to celebrate, but you're right, the flip side is to be noted. It was just an observation!
